Rain Showers Possible On Thursday, Snow Over The Weekend?

Good Evening!

Anticipate a mild day tomorrow, with gusty winds of up to 35 mph. A cold front will swing into the area on Thursday. With the passage of the cold front comes the chance of rain. At this point in time, rain looks to move in Thursday morning and move out by Thursday afternoon. Rain may end as a few snowflakes, but nothing major is expected.

The GFS shows rain showers over the Tri-State at 9 AM on Thursday. It should be noted that the NAM isn't as robust on rainfall as the GFS, as seen below.

Thursday isn't expected to be a washout. Rain should be shower like in nature.

This Saturday looks more interesting. The GFS has been showing more of a snow trend for this weekend.

GFS modeled precipitation on Saturday, February 3rd at 6 PM. Currently, it appears snow may move in Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning. It's something to definitely keep an eye on. It's way too early for any specifics at this time. Confidence should increase by this Thursday for the snow chance on Saturday. If there's anything I'm confident on it is that the forecast will change. Stay up to date with the latest changes with Metro Weather Watch!
