After Weekend Storms, Quiet Weather Ahead
The weather over the next several days is expected to remain rather uneventful. Scattered showers are expected to persist over the next several days, with an occasional rumble of thunder mixing in. No severe storms are anticipated.
Skies will clear later this week, with sunny skies dominating for your Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
This has certainly been a wacky February, with bitterly cold temperatures to extremely warm. From snow and ice to tornadoes, floods, and wind. Although February can be a bit temperamental with its weather, this month has certainly been out of the ordinary. And winter may not be done with us just yet. I've got my eye on next week, as temperatures will dip below freezing once again.
The last thing that I'd like to discuss today is the recent severe weather that moved through this weekend. Moisture dominated across the region, and vertical wind shear was over 75 knots, which is conducive to supercells, as well as tornadoes. All the conditions came together, and when combined with daytime instability, thunderstorms fired. It didn't take long for them to intensify and get spinning. By the late afternoon hours, wind, hail, and tornado reports came flooding in.
Do you have any thoughts on the recent severe weather? Any photos? Leave us a comment!
