Rain, Cold, and Snow All Possible By Sunday
I hope everyone is having a great evening!
A cold front will pass by tomorrow, bringing showers to the Tri-State. Showers may end as snow, but nothing significant is anticipated.
The picture above is the Hi-Res NAM trying to pick up the switch over from rain to snow at around 3 pm tomorrow. Tomorrow should mostly be a rain event. Some may not even see any snow. It just depends on how quickly the cold air filters in.
Friday should be clear and temperatures should stay in the 20's for the high.
This weekend looks intriguing. The GFS is still depicting snow for much of the region Saturday through Sunday. The NAM is also showing snow, though it has snow arriving later than the GFS does. The GFS modeled precipitation for Saturday evening is shown below.
Tomorrow, the models should have a better grasp on this system as it makes its way into the U.S and the weather balloons can sample what's going on in the atmosphere. This provides more accurate data. Weather is very fluid in nature, so don't be alarmed if things change.
